The Easy-to-Read Book of Mormon

The Easy-to-Read Book of Mormon retells every verse in the Book of Mormon in simple modern English. You can read this on any laptop or desktop computer, or on a tablet, or on a smartphone. A good way to use The Easy-to-Read Book of Mormon is to read it along with the regular Book of Mormon at the same time. Every chapter on the easy-to-read website has a button on the bottom, named “Original,” that opens (in a different tab or window) the same chapter on The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints’ website.

You may not know the meanings of all the words you read in The Easy-to-Read Book of Mormon. You can look up many of these words and their meanings in the part called “Words to Know” at the end of this book.

In most places where The Easy-to-Read Book of Mormon says “brothers and sisters” or includes women in other ways, the original Book of Mormon often says only “brethren” or “brothers,” or talks only about or to men. But in our time, it is very important for everyone alive today — women and men, boys and girls — to understand that God wants all of us to think about and live by the good things we can learn from the Book of Mormon.
