We touched with our own hands all the plates that Joseph Smith, Jr. said he translated, and we saw the writing on the plates. The plates and the writing on them all look very old and were strangely made. We tell you seriously that we saw the plates, and touched them with our own hands, and lifted them ourselves, so we know that Joseph Smith, Jr. does have the plates we have been talking about. We are willing to sign our names as witnesses to the world that we have seen these things. God is our witness that we are not lying.
