Third Nephi — Chapter 23
1 [Then Jesus said:] “Study these things. Yes, I command you to study Isaiah’s words carefully, because he wrote great things.
2 “He talked about everything which will happen to the House of Israel, so he also talked to the Gentiles.
3 “Everything he talked about has come true or will come true.
4 “Listen to what I say and write down the things I have told you. The Father will give the things you write to the Gentiles when the time is right.
5 “Whoever listens to my words, repents and is baptized, will be saved. Study what the prophets have said, because many have talked about these things.”
6 After Jesus said this, and explained the scriptures to them, he said to them: “There are other scriptures you do not have that I want you to write down.”
7 Then he said to Nephi: “Bring me the records you have kept.”
8 When Nephi brought him the records, he looked at them and said:
9 “I told my servant, Samuel the Lamanite, to tell this people that when I rose from the dead for the glory of the Father, many saints would also rise from the dead and show themselves to many people and teach them. Did this not happen?”
10 And his disciples said: “Yes, Lord, Samuel told us what you told him to say, and what he said came true.”
11 Then Jesus said to them: “Why haven’t you written about how the saints rose from the dead and showed themselves to many people, and taught them?”
12 Then Nephi remembered that this had not been written down.
13 So Jesus commanded it to be written down, and it was done.
14 After Jesus had explained to them all the scriptures they had written, he commanded his disciples to teach the people the things he had explained to them.
