The Easy-to-Read Book of Mormon

Third Nephi — Chapter 22

Jesus keeps talking to the Nephites–see Isaiah 54.

Then what was written that the Lord said will come true: “Sing, O woman who never had a baby. There will be more children from women whose husbands have left them than from married women.

“Make your tent bigger. Widen the place where you live. Stretch out the ropes and make the stakes stronger,

“Because you will spread out to the right and left, and your children will take over the Gentiles’ lands and live in the empty cities.

“Do not be afraid, because you will not be defeated, nor will you be ashamed. You will forget the shame you had when you were young, and you will not remember the shame of being a widow anymore,

“Because the Lord of Hosts is the name of your maker and husband. Your Savior, the Holy One of Israel, will be called the God of the whole earth.”

The Lord says: “The Lord has called you as a woman who was left alone nd is sad–a young wife who was turned away by her husband.

“I left you for a little while, but I will gather you to me with love and great mercy.”

The Lord your Savior says: “I turned my face away from you for a little while when I was angry, but I will have great kindness and mercy on you.k, and killed many of them.

“Just as I promised that the floods of Noah’s time would never come on the earth again, I have promised that I will not be angry with you.”

The Lord who has mercy on you says: “The mountains may leave and the hills may go away, but my kindness will not leave you, nor will the promise I made to my people be broken.

“O you sad and troubled one who has no comfort! I will build your house out of colored stones and build your foundation out of sapphires.

“I will build your windows out of agates, and your gates out of rubies, and all your fences out of jewels.

“The Lord will teach your children, and they will have great peace.

“You will be built up in righteousness. You will not be afraid of slavery or destruction anymore.

“Your enemies will come against you, but I will not send them. Whoever comes against you will be defeated.

“I am the one who makes the makers of weapons. I am also those who makes those who destroy.”

The Lord says: “No weapon made to fight against you will succeed. You will condemn those who judge you and say bad things against you. This is what the Lord’s servants have been given, and their righteousness has come from me.”
