Third Nephi — Chapter 21
Jesus keeps talking to the Nephites.
I give you a sign so you will know the time these things are just about to happen. I will gather in my people, the House of Israel, after their long time of being scattered, and I will build Zion among them again.
This is what I will give you as a sign (because when these things I myself tell you now, and then tell you later by the power of the Holy Ghost which the Father will give you — when these things are given to the Gentiles so they can know about this people who belong to the House of Jacob, and about my people whom they will scatter) —
When the Father lets them know about these things which will come from the Father to them, and from them to you —
4 (It is the Father’s wisdom to build them up in this land, and let them be a free people because of his power, so these things can come from them to your descendants, and so the Father will keep the promise he made to his people, O House of Israel) —
When these things and the things this people do from now on come from the Gentiles to your descendants, who no longer believe because of sin —
(It is the Father’s wisdom that these things come from the Gentiles, so he can show the Gentiles his power, and so if the Gentiles do not harden their hearts, and repent and come to me and are baptized in my name and know about my true teachings, they can be counted with my people, O House of Israel) —
When these things happen, and your descendants begin to know these things, that will be a sign to them that the Father has already begun to keep the promise he made to the people who are part of the House of Israel.
When that time comes, kings will be surprised and close their mouths, because they will see that they had not really been told everything about him, and they will think about what they had not been told.
At that time the Father will do a great and wonderful work among them because of me, but there will be those among them who will not believe it, even though witnesses tell them about it.
But my servant’s life will be in my hands, so they will not be able to destroy him, even though they will hurt him. I will heal him, and I will show them that I am wiser than the devil.
I am Jesus Christ. Those who will not believe my words, which the Father will give my servant power to say to the Gentiles (just like Moses), will be cut off from among my promised people.
Then my people (who are part of the House of Jacob) will be among the Gentiles. They will be like lions among the animals of the forest, and like young lions among flocks of sheep, who destroy and tear apart, and no one can save them.
They will fight against all their enemies, and all their enemies will be destroyed.
The Father says: “Yes, woe to the Gentiles if they do not repent, because at that time I will take away your horses and destroy your chariots.
“I will destroy the cities in your land and destroy all your strong places.
“I will get rid of the witchcraft in your land, and you will have no more fortune-tellers.
“I will destroy your idols and the statues among you, and you will not worship anything that you yourselves have made anymore.
“I will destroy your orchards just as I will destroy your cities.
“Then there will be no more lies nor tricks, nor envy, nor fights, nor false religions, nor sexual sins.”
The Father says: “At that time, whoever does not repent and come to my Dear Son will be cut off from my people, O House of Israel.
“I will punish them in such anger that even the unbelieving nations will not have heard of such things.
“But if they will repent and listen to my words, and not harden their hearts, I will build my church among them, and I will make the same promise to them, and they will be counted with Jacob’s family, to whom I have given this land forever.
“They will help my people — those of Jacob’s family, and also all the House of Israel who will come — to build a city called the New Jerusalem.
“Then they will help my people who are scattered all over the land to be gathered to the New Jerusalem.
“Then the power of heaven will come down among them, and I will also be with them.”
At the time the gospel is taught to the rest of this people, the Father’s work will begin among all my people who have been scattered, even among the ten tribes who were lost after the Father led them away from Jerusalem.
“Yes, the work will begin (with the Father’s help) among all my people who have been scattered, to make a way for them to come to me, so they can pray to the Father in my name.
Then the work will begin in all nations (with the Father’s help) to make a way for his people to come home to their land.
The Father says: “They will come home from all nations. They will not go out fast, nor in secret, but I will go in front of them, and I will guard them in back.”
