Third Nephi — Chapter 16
Jesus continues talking to the Nephite disciples.
I tell you truly, I have other sheep who do not live in this land, and who do not live in Jerusalem nor in any part of the lands where I have taught.
I am talking about people who have not heard my voice yet, and to whom I have not shown myself yet.
But Father has commanded me to go to them. They will hear my voice, and they will be counted as my sheep, so there will be one flock and one shepherd. I am going to show myself to them.
I command you to write what I have said after I am gone. That way, if my people at Jerusalem who have seen me there, do not ask the Father in my name to know more about you and the other lost tribes through the Holy Ghost, what I have said to you will be shown to the Gentiles. This way their descendants, who will be scattered all over the earth because they would not believe, will come to know me, their Savior, through the Gentiles.
Then I will gather them in from all over the earth, and then I will keep the promise the Father made to all the people of the House of Israel.
The Gentiles will be blessed for believing in me because of the Holy Ghost, who is a witness to them of the Father and me.
The Father says: “The truth will be given to the Gentiles in the last days because they will believe in me, and because the House of Israel will not believe in me.”
The Father says: “But woe to the Gentiles who do not believe, even though they have come to this land and have scattered my people who belong to the House of Israel, and thrown them out and walked all over them.”
Because of the Father’s mercy on the Gentiles, and because of his judgments on the people of the House of Israel — I tell you, after all this — after I have let the people of the House of Israel be beaten and hurt and killed and thrown out, and hated and called terrible names among the Gentiles —
This is what the Father has commanded me to say to you: “When the Gentiles begin to sin against my gospel, and become prouder than all the other nations and peoples of the earth, and when they lie and cheat and do mean things, and are full of hypocrisy and murder and false churches and sexual sins and other evil things; — If they do all these things, and reject my full gospel, then I will take the full gospel away from them.
“Then I will remember the promise I made to my people, O House of Israel, and I will bring my gospel to them.
“And I will show you, O House of Israel, that the Gentiles will not have power over you. But I will remember my promise to you, O House of Israel, and you will come to know my full gospel.”
The Father says: “If the Gentiles repent and come back to me, they will be counted as part of my people, O House of Israel.”
The Father says: “I will not let my people, who belong to the House of Israel, go among them and walk all over them.
“But if they will not come back to me and listen to my voice, then I will let my people go among them and walk all over them. They will be like salt that has lost its flavor, which is good for nothing except to be thrown away and walked on by my people, O House of Israel.”
I tell you truly, the Father commanded me to give this people this land.
Then these words of Isaiah will come true:
“Your guards will shout for joy, and sing, because they will see the Lord bringing Zion again.
“Sing with joy together, O broken places of Jerusalem, because the Lord has comforted his people and has saved Jerusalem.
“The Lord has shown his holy arm to all the nations, and all the earth will see the saving power of God.”
