Second Nephi — Chapter 33
Now I, Nephi, cannot write down all the things my people were taught. I am not as good at writing as I am at speaking, because when a person speaks by the power of the Holy Ghost, the Holy Ghost takes what is said into people’s hearts.
Many people will not listen to the Holy Ghost, so they don’t care about the things which are written.
But I, Nephi, have written what I can, and I think it is very important, especially for my people. I pray for them without stopping all day long, and I cry because of them at night. I pray to God about them with faith, and I know God will hear my prayers.
I know God will help my people because of my prayers. The words I have written in weakness will be made strong for them, because my words tell them to do good, and tell them about their ancestors, and tell them to believe in Jesus, and tell them to endure to the end so they can have eternal life.
My words speak plainly against sin. No one will be angry about what I have written unless they have the spirit of the devil.
I love plainness. I love truth. I love my Jesus, because he has saved my soul from hell.
I love my people, and I have great faith in Christ that I will meet many pure souls when he judges us.
I love the Jews — when I say Jews, I mean the people I left behind in Jerusalem.
I also love the Gentiles. But none of these people can be saved unless they believe in Christ, and repent, and are baptized, and keep all his commandments for the rest of their lives.
My dear brothers and sisters, and Jews, and everyone on earth: Listen to my words and believe in Christ. If you do not believe in these words, at least believe in Christ. But if you believe in Christ, you will believe in these words, because these are the words Christ has given to me, and they teach all people to do good.
Judge for yourself if these are Christ’s words. Christ will show you that they are when you and I stand face to face at the last day. Then you will know that he commanded me to write these words, even though I am weak.
I pray to the Father in Christ’s name that many of us, if not all of us, will be saved in his kingdom at that great and last day.
Now, my dear brothers and sisters, all who are part of the House of Israel, and everyone on earth, I speak to you as though from the dust: Goodbye until that great and last day comes.
And to you who will not come to God, and will not listen to the Jews’ words, and to my words, which have come from the Son of God: I say goodbye to you forever, because you will be judged by these words.
You will be judged by what I have sealed on earth. This is what the Lord has commanded me to do, and I must obey him. Amen.
