Second Nephi — Chapter 29
[The Lord says:] “When this wonderful work comes to them, I will remember the promises I made to save my people of the House of Israel for the second time.
“I will remember the promises I made to you, Nephi, and to your father, to remember your descendants, and to give your descendants and all the House of Israel the words I have given to you and your children. These words will go all over the earth to teach and lead my people who belong to the House of Israel.
“But many of the Gentiles will say: ‘A Bible! A Bible! We already have a Bible, and there can’t be any more Bible.’”
But the Lord says: “Those fools will have a Bible that comes from the Jews, my first promised people. What thanks have they given the Jews for this Bible? What do they mean? They don’t remember how the Jews have suffered and worked hard to bring salvation to the Gentiles.”
The Lord says: “O you Gentiles, have you remembered the Jews and tried to teach them so they could be saved? No. You have cursed them and hated them. I have not forgotten them, and the way you treat them will be the way I will treat you.
“You are fools to say: ‘We already have a Bible, and we do not need any more Bible.’ How would you have gotten the Bible if it hadn’t been for the Jews?
“Don’t you know that there is more than one nation? Don’t you know that I, God, made all people, and that I remember all people no matter where they live? I rule the heavens and the earth, and I give my words to people in all lands.
“Why are you complaining about having more truth? If two nations say I am God, isn’t this a witness to you that I am God, and that I remember all nations? I will say the same thing to each nation. Then when two or more nations come together, the witnesses they give will come together also.
“I have done this to show that I am the same yesterday, today, and forever, and I that give people truth when I want to. Just because my words have been written down in one record does not mean more of my words cannot be written down, because my work is not done yet. My work for people’s good will never be done.
“Just because you have a Bible does not mean you have all my words, nor should you think that I haven’t told others to write down what I say to them.s that Christ will come.
“I tell all people — in the north, south, east, west, and on all the islands — to write down the words I speak to them. I will judge people by what is written in their [holy] books, and people will be judged by their works.
“I will speak to the Jews, and they will write down what I say. I will speak to the Nephites, and they will write down what I say. I will also speak to the other tribes of the House of Israel whom I have led away, and they will write down what I say. I will speak to all the nations of the earth, and they will write down what I say.
“Someday the Jews will have the Nephites’ words, and the Nephites will have the Jews’ words, and the Nephites and the Jews will have the words of the lost tribes of Israel, and the lost tribes of Israel will have the words of the Nephites and the Jews.
“My people, the House of Israel, will be gathered together in their ancestors’ lands, and all my words will be gathered into one book. I will show those who fight against my word and against my people that I am God, and that I promised Abraham I would remember his descendants forever.”
