The Easy-to-Read Book of Mormon

Second Nephi — Chapter 11

Jacob told my people many more things at that time, but I have written enough of them.

Now I, Nephi, will write more of Isaiah’s words, because my soul loves them. His words speak to my people. I will write down what he said for all my descendants, because Isaiah saw my Savior, just as I have.

My brother Jacob has seen Jesus, just as I have. I will write what Jacob and Isaiah said so my descendants will know that what I say is true. God has said that the words of three people will be a witness to the truth of his words. (Sometimes God sends even more witnesses to show the truth of his words.)

My soul loves showing my people that Christ will truly come, and that he is the reason the Law of Moses was given. Everything God has given to people, from the beginning of the world, shows that Christ will come.

My soul also loves the promises God made to our ancestors, and my soul loves God’s grace and mercy in his great plan of salvation.

My soul loves showing my people that Christ must come, or all people will die —

Because if there is no Christ, there is no God. If there is no God, then we are not, because we would not have been made. But there is a God, and there is a Christ, and he will come when the time is right.

Now I will write some of Isaiah’s words, so that whoever among my people reads them will be happy. These are his words, and you need to believe that he was writing about you and about all people.
